Reid Nakamura

I

Senior Class President, Reid Nakamura, is the son of Jarred and Sharon Nakamura.  A truly outstanding student, he was named Sophomore of the Year.  This is awarded to the individual who has made the greatest impact and contribution to his class.  He was also a finalist in AHS most prestigious award, the Ke Ali'i Kaulana Award.  This recognizes a senior who has excelled in academics, sports, and school/community service over the four years at AHS.  Bringing pride to AHS, Sassy and G Magazine named Reid as one of Hawaii's 25 Most Intriguing Seniors.  In sports, Reid played AHS Varsity Baseball for 3 years, been a Team Captain for 2 years and has been recognized by the Rural Invitational League as the Most Inspirational Player for the last 2 years.  In addition, he gives back to the community by being a junior coach for the Aiea Little League.  Reid is also active in the Peer Education Program.  As the program's VP, he helps to educate his peers on the dangers of drugs, alcohol, smoking and STD.  He also mentors the little kids at Pearl Ridge Elementary, teaching them traffic safety, getting along with others and bullying.  His volunteer work also includes being an A+ junior leader, the Great Aloha Run, and with the Honolulu Marathon.
